Growing up alongside my family’s garden centre business I have always been exposed to horticulture and as a result have an affinity with nature and the outdoors. An interest in the built environment and design led me to study Architecture at undergraduate level. However, despite a positive working experience, I did not feel completely convinced on following the path of Architecture generally.
Working abroad and travelling helped strengthen my passion for the natural environment and our connection to it, but also highlighted our strains on the earth. This inspired me to pursue a career in Landscape Architecture as an opportunity to make a positive impact through design that encompassed natural and human elements.
Choosing to study at MMU was an easy decision as the quality of the graduates is regarded highly by the profession and the pace of growth of the city provides an ideal environment to study Landscape Architecture.
