Student Profile: Nicholas Baron MLA1

Having completed a BSc and a MSc in medical sciences I went on to work for benchmark vaccines company in Essex focusing on quality control testing of animal vaccines. After re-evaluating my career pathway I worked for Bupa Dental Care as a the trainee manager and a dental nurse for 4 years where I developed a broad skill range. I then decided to retrain in Landscape Architecture, driven by a long-standing passion for the natural world and design which up until now has been underdeveloped.

What I most enjoy in Landscape Architecture is how you can play around with shapes of plants and structures (height, texture, transparency and colour) to create a story and also mystery, which makes you want to discover what is around the corner. This can then be used to establish a message through the created environment, and pursue a particular desired atmosphere for the observer.
