Exhibition boards were mounted in a range of spaces
This year The “North West Landscape Institute” Practice evening, organised by the Master of Landscape Architecture staff and students was held at No 70 Oxford Road (an outpost of MMU). This provided an excellent space for displaying the forty plus exhibition boards and accommodating over a hundred practitioners and students at the private view.
The exhibition was supplemented by four short presentations from local practitioners: Landscape Projects, Exterior Architecture, Planit-ie and Gillespies, who encapsulated the wide range of work, both local, regional and global, which the profession is involved in.
Photos, left to right: Ed Lister from Planit-ie presented a “call to arms” from all practitioners to contribute to the development of Manchester as a cycling city (photo by Ian Fisher); Jonathan Miley presenting from Exterior Architecture, and Mark Hallett presenting from Gillespies (photos by Nick Harrison).
The evening also provided the opportunity to announce the winners of the RHS Learning Garden (see following posts) and the “In Plain Site” student photographic competition (see following posts).
Many thanks to our sponsors Hardscape, JA Jones and GreenBlue urban for supporting the event; to all the students who helped in the erection and dismantling of the exhibition and to Nick Harrison for sharing his photographs.
